Burcu Soysev completed her primary, secondary and high school education at T.E.D Ankara College. She passed the exam of the Hacettepe University State Conservatory Vocal Arts Department, however the conditions prevalent at the time forced her to discontinue her studies there and instead she went on to study in the Faculty of Law at Ankara University, where she had gained a place in the same year. Soysev completed her education in law and her internship however never practiced the profession. Pursuing her passion to become a musician she got into Bilkent University Music and Performing Arts Faculty. She was promoted to a higher grade during her study and graduated first in rank from her department and second from her faculty within a period of three years and followed this up with the completion of her Master’s Degree and Doctorate Degree at the same university.
Soysev, worked at the Ankara State Opera as a Guest Artist for twelve years, before coming successful in the examination set by the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Opera Department in September 2011. She followed this up by becoming a permanent Academic Staff and the Head of the Vocal Branch of Arts alongside pursuing her post at the opera. In January 2013, she completed the permanent staff examination set by the State Opera and Ballet General Directorate as the first rank and made her choice to become an artist, leaving her academic post in order to start her new assignment at the Istanbul State Opera.
Soysev, was deemed successful at both stages (Work of Art Review and Oral Stage) of the Associate Professorship examination organised by the Interuniversity Board and granted the “Associate Professorship” title for the Opera Singing branch of the Performing Arts on 4 October 2013.
Besides her assignment at the opera, Soysev is currently working as an Associate Professor at Haliç University Conservatory Vocal Arts Department
